What we offer


Since 2010 Montecatone Rehabilitation Institute has been accredited by the Emilia-Romagna Regional Health Service for 150 beds for inpatient care and 8 beds for day hospital, dedicated to people with spinal cord injury (SCI) and/or severe acquired brain injuries.

The hospital offers care pathways for:
1. Treatment of SCI in its acute and post-acute phase and in concomitance with complications
2. Treatment of severe acquired brain injuries


Every unit pays specific attention to patient’s needs as far as gastroenterology and internal medicine are concerned. Highly skilled professionals provide high quality healthcare in any medical field related to neurorehabilitation and to functional recovery and rehabilitation. As a matter of fact, outpatient diagnostic services are provided for clinical evaluation and re-evaluation (Physical medicine and rehabilitation - PM&R - assessment and diagnostic evaluation of neurophysiological, urological, andrological and gastroenterological issues). 

Specialist services are included in the diagnostic therapeutic care pathway, both internally (radiology and ultrasound, gastroenterology and internal medicine rehabilitation, outpatient services including neurophysiology, urodynamics, andrology, speech therapy, psychology, hydrokinesitherapy, spasticity management and neuropsychology) and externally (laboratory analysis, MRI, CT scan, gynecology, pulmonology, ophthalmology, maxillofacial and plastic surgery, thoracic endoscopy, spine surgery, upper extremity surgery, thoracic surgery,  infectious disease consultants, urology, scintigraphy, videofluorography, psychiatry, etc.)
Under arrangements with local institutions, the hospital offers the following outpatient specialist services (to inpatients and patients referred by a general practitioner):
